The deadline for students to request to take a class pass/fail for Spring 2024 is Friday, May 3rd. Students submit their Pass/Fail requests in Banner.
Student pass/fail requests must be submitted electronically in Banner before the deadline date each semester. The instructions on doing so can be found on the Registrar’s Website.
Please be sure to contact your advisor before submitting your request. You will receive an email confirmation when they have approved or denied your request.
Rules for requesting a pass/fail in a course are listed below:
1. Student must be degree seeking-Matriculated.
2. Student can take two courses pass/fail per semester. Once the pass/fail form has been submitted, the option for that semester has been used, even if a substitution form is filed at a later date. All summer sessions count as 1 semester.
3. Student cannot take CWP 101 or CWP 102 as a pass/fail.
4. Students may not use pass/fail to repeat a course for which a grade of C- or below was earned.
5. If a student is repeating a class that they previously took pass/fail and received an F, they may repeat the class pass/fail.
6. Courses required for a student’s major or any courses in a major elective area and in a minor cannot be taken pass/fail.
7. Courses taken as part of Early Childhood & Childhood Education Program Certifications & Distributions may not be taken pass/fail.
8. Courses taken as part of Electrical Engineering Tech/Electronics & Smart Grid & Mechanical Engineering Tech Accreditations cannot be taken pass/fail.
9. Graduate classes cannot be taken pass/fail.
10. Coursework taken as part of a Micro-credential may not be taken pass/fail
