You can only DROP a course in Banner through the first week of class. Specifically, through the end of registration, which ends on Monday, September 3rd at 11:59 pm in Banner.
If you want to DROP a class after Sept. 3, it is not a drop but a WITHDRAWAL FROM COURSE. When you DROP a class you have no financial liability, but after the first week of class, Withdrawals carry the possibility of financial penalties. Refer to the Schedule of Refund Eligibility from the Student Accounts Office page.
DROPS can be completed easily online in Banner. Withdrawal from Course is also done online in Banner.
DROPS do not show on your official academic record. Withdrawals are recorded as a "W" next to the class, although they have no effect on your average.
It is always recommended that you complete all registrations, including DROPS and adds prior to the first day of class, Aug. 27th. If you need to make changes during the first week, please complete your DROPS as soon as you can as a courtesy to the faculty, who are working hard for you.
NON-ATTENDANCE in a clas does not constitute an official withdrawal.
Monday, September 3rd at 11:59 pm is the deadline to drop a Fall 2018 class or withdraw without financial penalty.
